Selection Based 100% on CSAT Scores
No Restrictions on Subject Choices
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will select 1,578 students, accounting for 42.3% of the total 3,733 available seats, in the 2026 regular admissions cycle.
This includes 1,393 students through the general admissions track and 185 through special admissions outside the regular quota for students from rural areas, recipients of basic livelihood security, and students from low-income families. By admissions group, the general admissions track will select 272 students in Group A (187 at the Seoul Campus, 85 at the Global Campus), 688 in Group B (413 at the Seoul Campus, 275 at the Global Campus), and 433 in Group C (99 at the Seoul Campus, 334 at the Global Campus). For special admissions, 50 rural students will be selected in Group B and 51 in Group C, while 42 students who are recipients of basic livelihood security or from low-income families will be selected in Group B and 42 in Group C.
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will admit all new students in the regular admissions cycle based solely on College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores, regardless of the admissions track. In order to simplify the admissions process and reduce the burden of preparation, both the general and special admissions outside the regular quota will be based 100% on CSAT results. There are no designated required subjects for each academic division, so applicants may freely apply to any department or division they wish. Starting this year, CSAT scores in Korean History will also be reflected as additional points for applicants to science and engineering tracks, depending on their grade. Furthermore, if there are any records of school violence measures, points will be deducted from the total score according to the relevant provisions.
Beginning with the 2025 admissions cycle, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies introduced an integrated admissions track that allows students to enroll without selecting a specific major at the time of admission, enabling them to choose their major during their studies. For the 2026 regular admissions, the university has significantly expanded the number of seats available in this integrated admissions track.
The integrated admissions track for flexible major selection will recruit a total of 836 students (24.02%), including 325 students (9.34%) in the Division of Liberal Studies (Seoul and Global Campuses) and 511 students (14.68%) in the integrated admissions track by college and division. Of these, 90 students in the Division of Liberal Studies (Seoul and Global Campuses) and all 511 students in the college/division integrated admissions track will be selected through the regular admissions process.
New students admitted through the Division of Liberal Studies and the college/division integrated admissions track will be able to choose their desired department or major at the beginning of their second year. They are guaranteed 100% placement in their chosen department or major among the available options, ensuring complete freedom in major selection.
Applications for the regular admissions cycle can be submitted via the admissions website from 10:00 a.m. on December 29 until 5:00 p.m. on December 31. If applicants are required to submit supporting documents, these must be uploaded online by January 2, 2026.
The announcement of successful candidates is scheduled for January 26, 2026 for the general admissions track, and February 2 for the special admissions track.
