This event, held as a side program of the "2025 International Labor Festa" under the theme "Youth, Local Governments, and the Future of Work," aims to explore public-private cooperation measures to enhance the rights and interests of platform workers and to establish a safe working environment.

The forum, co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Korea Platform Freelancer Labor Mutual Aid Association, will be attended by around 200 representatives from labor organizations, platform companies, the Job Foundation, Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, the Mobile Workers’ Shelter Council, and other support organizations.

The program will proceed in the following order: presentation of the outcomes and plans for platform labor support projects; sharing of international case studies; policy proposals; and an open discussion. First, Gyeonggi Province, the Job Foundation, Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, the Platform Labor Mutual Aid Association, and the Mobile Workers’ Shelter Council will share this year’s key achievements and next year’s directions. Next, international labor experts will introduce platform labor policy trends in other countries, and the Korea Federation of Trade Unions Central Research Institute will present policy tasks.

During the open discussion session, on-site participants will directly exchange opinions and discuss practical issues and improvement measures for platform labor in the field. The outcomes of these discussions will be reflected in future policies.

The forum will be held in an open format, allowing any visitor to the International Labor Festa to freely attend. In one section of the venue, a photo exhibition will also be held, showcasing best practices and activity photos from platform companies, support organizations, and labor groups, as well as introducing key demands. This space will serve to share the diverse voices from platform labor sites.

Based on the opinions presented at this forum, Gyeonggi Province plans to establish a "Comprehensive Plan for Platform Labor in Gyeonggi Province" and further expand its policy foundation by setting up communication systems by occupation and agenda. The province is also considering signing work agreements with participating organizations.

Jo Sanggi, Director of the Labor Rights and Interests Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Gyeonggi Province has established ordinances and policies to support platform workers and has been implementing related projects. We will strengthen the public-private cooperation system based on voices from the field and strive to create a sustainable and safe working environment."
