Korea Investment & Securities stated on December 16 that it expects SOS Lab to grow into a robot component company.

Kim Changho, a researcher at Korea Investment & Securities, explained, "Humanoid robots have gone through research and development (R&D), prototype, and proof of concept (PoC) stages in the past, and are expected to enter commercialization and mass production next year."

He continued, "Universal robots will be equipped with LiDAR to improve precision and computational efficiency in operations," adding, "The adoption of LiDAR for robots is expected to gradually increase going forward."

He analyzed, "SOS Lab recently secured an order for the next-generation robot platform PluD for the mass-produced MobED, which was announced by Hyundai Motor Company. We expect Hyundai-related robot sales to reach between 13 billion and 18 billion won next year."

Kim emphasized, "SOS Lab is rapidly expanding its references within Hyundai Motor's robotics value chain, and this is likely to lead to increased sales as the robotics industry develops." He also stated, "Since Hyundai Motor has set its strategic direction toward advancing robotics technology, we expect SOS Lab, as a major supplier, to see an increase in robot-related sales." He further explained, "Whether a fixed LiDAR will be installed on Boston Dynamics' Atlas or its next-generation version remains the biggest variable."
