[Weather] Light Snow and Rain in Seoul Metropolitan Area and Gangwon on Tuesday... Morning Lows from -4 to 5 Degrees

On Tuesday, the 16th, there will be light rain or snow in the Seoul metropolitan area, the inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon, and the northern part of Chungcheong.

As a trough of low pressure moves from the northern part of the West Sea to the East Sea, rain or snow is expected to begin in the northern and southeastern parts of Gyeonggi Province and the inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon from early morning on the 16th. The rest of the Seoul metropolitan area and northern Chungcheong are expected to see precipitation starting in the morning, continuing into the night.


Precipitation amounts are expected to be low, with less than 5 mm in the central and southern inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon, and around 1 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area, northern inland and northern mountainous regions of Gangwon, northern Chungnam, and central and northern Chungbuk. Expected snowfall is about 1 to 3 cm in the mountainous regions of Gangwon and around 1 cm in the inland areas of Gangwon.


With winds blowing from the southwest along the edge of a high-pressure system located over the southern seas of Japan, temperatures on the 16th are expected to remain above the seasonal average. Morning lows on the 16th are forecast to range from -4 to 5 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 5 to 14 degrees Celsius.


The expected minimum and maximum temperatures for major cities are as follows: Seoul 3 and 8 degrees, Incheon 5 and 8 degrees, Daejeon 1 and 12 degrees, Gwangju 2 and 13 degrees, Daegu -1 and 11 degrees, Ulsan 0 and 13 degrees, and Busan 3 and 14 degrees. In the inland areas of the southern region, the temperature difference between day and night is expected to be around 15 degrees Celsius, so caution is advised.
