Boseong County Recognized for Achievements in AI-Based Welfare Administration
Boseong County, South Jeolla Province, announced that it was selected as an excellent institution in the field of welfare blind spot discovery in the "2025 Social Security Information System Construction and Operation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
This evaluation was conducted among 227 local governments nationwide, and only two-Boseong County and Yeonje District in Busan Metropolitan City-were selected as excellent institutions. As a result, Boseong County's achievements in proactive, AI-based welfare administration have been recognized on a national level.

The commendation was awarded to local governments and individuals who contributed to alleviating welfare blind spots by actively utilizing the AI initial consultation feature of the social security information system to identify households in crisis at an early stage. Boseong County was highly praised for demonstrating the effectiveness of AI-based welfare administration in the field.
Boseong County was selected as a pilot local government for the "AI Initial Consultation Phase 2" program, which utilizes big data related to vulnerable groups, such as electricity, water, and gas service disconnections and payment arrears, to proactively identify households in crisis and establish a systematic response.
"AI Initial Consultation" is a system that conducts preliminary consultations with households showing signs of crisis and, based on these consultations, enables tailored welfare support and linkage.
Through this system, Boseong County has identified over 3,000 individuals from households in welfare blind spots, providing substantial support by connecting them with public benefits and private resources, and continues to strengthen its rapid, field-oriented welfare response system.
An official from the county said, "We are grateful to receive such a meaningful award at a time when there is growing interest in supporting vulnerable groups," adding, "We will continue to operate the AI initial consultation system to further strengthen our support framework for households in crisis."
