This agreement was pursued to proactively respond to the evolving disaster environment by establishing a technology-based disaster response system. The aim is to collect video information from disaster sites using drone technology and to strengthen response capabilities.

The participating organizations reached a consensus that drone technology is essential for quickly obtaining information and responding at disaster scenes. Accordingly, the "Namyangju City Disaster Response Drone Council" was formed and officially launched through this agreement. The council plans to jointly promote the sharing of video information from disaster areas, support for lifesaving operations, and the establishment of an integrated response system among agencies.

The city has been working to create a safe environment where citizens can live with peace of mind by establishing a comprehensive safety system that combines technology and personnel. This agreement is expected to supplement the limitations of the existing disaster response system and enable customized responses tailored to the characteristics of each type of disaster.

Deputy Mayor Hong Jiseon emphasized, "Safety is the first step toward citizens' happiness and the standard that determines a city's dignity. The city has meticulously built a 'lifelong safety net' throughout all aspects of urban life, including disaster response, public safety, care, transportation, and mental health. This agreement is also significant in strengthening a proactive response system to protect citizens' lives and property."

She added, "Drone technology is a key tool that will fundamentally change the way future cities respond to disasters, and this agreement serves as an important foundation for the city to become a smart disaster response city."

Going forward, the city plans to further accelerate efforts to combine technology and safety policies based on this agreement, raising the level of safety experienced by citizens and building a sustainable response system to prepare for future risks.
