Seo Wangjin, the floor leader, and other lawmakers of the Party for National Innovation held a press conference at the National Assembly's Communication Center in Yeouido, Seoul, that afternoon. They stated, "The special prosecutor has issued a non-prosecution decision today regarding the complaints against Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, the presiding judge of the internal rebellion case, and other judiciary officials, including allegations of 'engagement in key duties related to the internal rebellion.'"

They said, "On the night of the martial law, in the early morning of December 4, 2024, Chief Justice Cho convened an emergency late-night executive meeting to discuss transferring the judicial functions of the Supreme Court to the martial law forces. While the people were fighting with all their might against the illegality of martial law, the Supreme Court, which should have been the final bastion of citizens' fundamental rights, attempted to hand over judicial authority to the martial law commander, assuming the success of the rebellion."

They continued, "Other than sending an inquiry to the Supreme Court's National Court Administration, which tried to legitimize the rebellion, the special prosecutor did not conduct any investigation. We urge a thorough investigation to uncover what the Supreme Court was plotting during the emergency late-night executive meeting on the night of martial law."

They added, "Today's non-prosecution decision cannot serve as a get-out-of-jail-free card for the judiciary. Where the special prosecutor stopped, we will begin again."
