Goyang City Holds 'Employee Communication and Empathy Day'... This event focused on two of the most pressing issues in modern society-climate change and geopolitical challenges-and featured a special lecture by Professor Park Jeongjae, a scholar in geography.

Professor Park Jeongjae completed his doctoral program in geography at the University of California and is currently a professor in the Department of Geography at Seoul National University. He has actively shared his expertise on climate and geography with the public through television appearances such as 'Differentiated Class' and 'EBS Science,' as well as numerous publications including 'The Origin of Koreans' and 'The Power of Climate.'

During his lecture, Professor Park emphasized, "It is essential to understand the complex relationship between the Earth's ecosystem and the international community both deeply and broadly. Only with extensive knowledge of climate geopolitics can we grasp the true nature of the Anthropocene climate crisis and respond wisely." He further stressed that "the value of coexistence must be prioritized globally to effectively address climate change."

On this day, Mayor Lee Donghwan congratulated multi-child families who received commendations for their contributions to promoting childbirth, and expressed his commitment to fostering a family-friendly environment where the city becomes a place conducive to raising children and where children's laughter brings hope to the community.

He also expressed gratitude to the employees who worked late into the night during the heavy snowfall on the evening of the 4th, and urged all staff to ensure prompt and systematic snow removal and on-site response this winter, as cold waves and localized heavy snowfalls are expected, so that citizens do not experience inconvenience.

Additionally, he mentioned the various awards the city received in 2025 in areas such as safety, security, and employment, and expressed his appreciation to all department staff for their hard work throughout the year.

A Goyang Special City official stated, "'Employee Communication and Empathy Day' was held every month this year as always, serving as a platform to share the city's philosophy and achievements, and to enhance employees' knowledge by inviting distinguished speakers from various fields. We will continue to hold meaningful events every month in 2026 to facilitate communication among all employees."
