KB Kookmin Bank announced on December 15 that it has launched the "KB SME Employee Preferential Savings" product.
This new savings product was developed as a result of a business agreement signed with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) in November. KB Kookmin Bank was selected as a participating bank for the "SME Employee Preferential Savings" program.
Eligible subscribers are employees of small and medium-sized enterprises who have received approval from KOSME. They can choose a subscription period of either 36 months or 60 months. The monthly deposit amount ranges from a minimum of 100,000 won to a maximum of 500,000 won, and the approved amount can be deposited once a month as authorized by KOSME.
The base interest rate is 2.5% per annum regardless of the subscription period. Depending on transaction conditions, a preferential rate of up to 2.0 percentage points can be added, allowing subscribers to receive a maximum annual interest rate of 4.5% (for both 36-month and 60-month terms).
This product is notable for supporting asset formation for employees through joint contributions from KB Kookmin Bank and SMEs. KB Kookmin Bank provides the preferential interest rate to subscribers, while SMEs contribute 20% of the employee's deposit as a corporate support fund, thereby assisting in asset building and also benefiting from corporate tax deductions.
Customers can subscribe to this product at KB Kookmin Bank branches, through KB Star Banking, or via the customer center (video consultation). Detailed information about the product is available on the KB Kookmin Bank website or through KB Star Banking.
