"Achievements in National Secondary Battery Projects and Industry-Customized Education"
An Seongwoo, Professor and Head of the Department of AI Entrepreneurship at Gyeongnam Information University, received a commendation from the Mayor of Busan at the 2025 Advanced Sector Innovation Convergence University Project Secondary Battery Consortium Busan Regional Performance Forum. The event was recently held at the main auditorium of the Mechanical Engineering Building at Pusan National University.
On December 15, Gyeongnam Information University announced that Professor An was recognized for his contributions to advancing practical, industry-focused technology education and customized industrial training through the Advanced Sector Innovation Convergence University Project, as well as for attracting national projects related to secondary batteries and contributing to the development of the local industrial ecosystem.
Professor An plans to leverage the accumulated expertise in advanced industry education and the university-industry cooperation network, gained through this recognition, to focus on the newly established Department of AI Entrepreneurship in the 2026 academic year.
The Department of AI Entrepreneurship offers a hands-on curriculum that covers everything from developing business models using artificial intelligence technology to actual startup creation. It is also gaining attention for its AI competency enhancement programs designed for working professionals.
Professor An Seongwoo stated, "I am delighted to have our educational achievements recognized in the secondary battery sector, which is a future growth industry for Busan," adding, "I will do my utmost in the Department of AI Entrepreneurship to help students become 'prepared CEOs' who use AI technology as a tool to create their own businesses."
