Zhang Yan, the teacher who prepared these gifts, shared, "One student who received a blanket, comforter, and pillow went home and immediately laid them out and lay down on them without even washing them first. The whole family was envious," she said.
The teacher got the idea while shopping online. She wanted to present her students with a special certificate, rather than a paper one. She explained, "I thought the children would feel happy if they could sleep under their 'certificate.' I also wanted to give each student a different award to bring them even greater joy." The gifts varied depending on the students' academic improvement. The top five students in the overall midterm exam scores received a "pillow," while those who excelled in individual subjects were given a "blanket."
