During the meeting, participants conducted an interim review of the wildfire prevention initiatives carried out to date and engaged in in-depth discussions on ways to supplement future measures and strengthen response capabilities.

Acting Mayor Jang received reports on the status of wildfire prevention efforts, suggestions, and on-site challenges from the Green City Project Office and each district office, and called for further strengthening of the overall wildfire prevention and response system.

The Green City Project Office plans to focus on several key projects to enhance wildfire response capabilities, including the construction of a wildfire response center, the digitalization of radio communication systems at two locations, the installation of wildfire extinguishing facilities at one site, the creation of wildfire safety zones at three sites, and the purchase of two new wildfire suppression vehicles. In addition, efforts will be made to strengthen public awareness by producing wildfire prevention videos and utilizing online media, while also reinforcing the wildfire response system in cooperation with the Changwon Fire Headquarters and intensifying patrols in wildfire-prone areas using volunteer fire brigades.

During the meeting, the suggestions and difficulties raised by the five district offices were categorized into those that could be addressed immediately and those requiring medium- to long-term review. The city, district offices, and local administrative units agreed to jointly develop and share improvement measures.

Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Above all, it is crucial to ensure thorough evacuation of residents to prevent casualties in the event of a wildfire," and requested, "Please conduct regular inspections of wildfire-prone areas, such as farms using wood boilers, remote villages, and temples."

He added, "Taking this wildfire countermeasure meeting as an opportunity, the city hall, district offices, and local administrative units will unite to do their utmost to prevent even a single wildfire from occurring. Should a wildfire break out, we will further strengthen the resident evacuation system to minimize casualties."
