SeAH Aerospace & Defense Materials Signs Long-Term Supply Deal with Boeing for Aircraft Aluminum

High-Strength Aluminum Alloy Supply Agreement
Supplying Materials for Fuselages and Wings Starting in 2026
Partnership Elevated Based on Direct Transaction Success

SeAH Aerospace & Defense Materials, a subsidiary of SeAH Besteel Holdings, has signed a long-term supply agreement (LTA) with Boeing, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, for high-strength aluminum alloy materials used in aircraft.

According to SeAH Besteel Holdings on December 15, SeAH Aerospace & Defense Materials will supply high-strength aluminum alloy materials for aircraft fuselages and wings to Boeing starting in 2026 under this agreement. This contract follows a direct transaction agreement signed with Boeing last year. High-strength aluminum alloy is a core material directly linked to the structural safety of aircraft, requiring high precision and consistent quality stability.

This long-term supply agreement is also significant in that it has secured production volume in advance from the new aluminum material plant under construction in Changnyeong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, with a capacity of 2,300 tons. The new plant is scheduled to begin full-scale operations in 2027. By securing stable volume from the outset, the company expects to achieve early stabilization of facility operations and enhanced cost competitiveness.

SeAH Aerospace & Defense Materials has been pursuing a strategy to restructure its portfolio toward high value-added materials focused on the aerospace and defense sectors. The company is expanding its market presence by supplying materials to global aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus Defence and Space, COMAC of China, Embraer of Brazil, and Bombardier of Canada. As of the cumulative third quarter of this year, the company posted sales of 98.9 billion won and operating profit of 20.3 billion won, achieving an operating margin of 20.6%, the highest performance since its establishment.

A representative from SeAH Besteel Holdings stated, "This long-term supply agreement with Boeing marks a milestone demonstrating that SeAH Aerospace & Defense Materials has established itself as a key supplier in the global aerospace materials market," adding, "We will strengthen cooperation with global aircraft manufacturers to expand the scope of material supply and accelerate entry into new platforms and portfolio expansion."
