The awards ceremony was attended by approximately 120 people, including Jeong Ki-seok, President of the National Health Insurance Service, and Kim Seong-i, President of the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. At the event, Wonju City was recognized as an outstanding external partner institution and received a plaque of appreciation.

This selection was the result of Wonju City's active participation in promoting community welfare and mutual growth activities through its cooperation with the National Health Insurance Service. In particular, the city received high marks for strengthening its partnership with the service across a variety of initiatives, including support for the operation of the Angel Donation Stairs at Wonju Station and Manjong Station, support for projects to enhance the educational rights of children and adolescents from vulnerable groups, and agreements to achieve carbon-neutral green growth.

Won Kangsu, Mayor of Wonju, stated, "It is meaningful that the various mutual growth activities we have promoted together with the National Health Insurance Service have led to such a significant result," adding, "We will continue to pursue welfare, cultural, and mutual growth policies that citizens can truly feel, based on close cooperation with public institutions."
