[Weather for Tomorrow] Seoul Morning Low at Minus 3 Degrees... Beware of Icy Roads on Your Commute

Strong Winds to Make It Feel Even Colder

Monday, December 15, is expected to be cold due to the influence of cold air descending from the north. The morning low will range from -8 to 2 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high will be between 4 and 11 degrees Celsius. The wind is also expected to be somewhat strong, making the perceived temperature even lower.

During the early morning hours, light rain or snow flurries are expected along the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do, the west coast of Jeolla, and Jeju Island.

As the rain and snow that have fallen freeze, many areas are likely to experience icy roads and black ice.

The Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province will be mostly clear but will gradually become cloudy from the morning. The Chungcheong and Jeolla regions will generally be cloudy, while Gyeongsang Province and Jeju Island will see occasional cloudiness. Fine dust levels across the country are expected to remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels.

For the time being, swells are expected to move into the east coast, causing high waves to surge toward the beaches or even over rocks and breakwaters, so caution is advised to prevent accidents. Wave heights will range from 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, and from 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the nearshore waters of the West and South Seas. In offshore areas (about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.0 to 4.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the South Sea.
