Grand Prize, Technology Award, Innovation Award, and Idea Award
Students from Pukyong National University have emerged as leading digital talents driving regional innovation.
Students from the Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group at Pukyong National University (led by Noh Maengseok) made a strong showing at the '2025 U-BDIA AI·SW Festival,' winning a total of six awards, including the Grand Prize, at the Side Project Awards Ceremony.

These students, representing the project group, received the Grand Prize, along with the Technology Award, two Innovation Awards (awarded to two teams), and two Idea Awards (awarded to two teams) at the event, which was hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency and held at Centum Venture Town in Busan on December 12.
This event was organized as a platform for sharing the latest trends in artificial intelligence and software, strengthening employability, nurturing talent, and promoting the development of related industries. Thirty teams from seven universities in the Busan area participated, showcasing their AI and software capabilities and competing for awards.
On this day, the I CANE SEE team from Pukyong National University (Lee Jaehun, Lee Donghee, Lee Taehun, Choi Youngjoo) developed a 'smart cane for the visually impaired,' winning both the Grand Prize and the Technology Award (with a prize of 600,000 KRW).
Following this, the JOLO team (Moon Hongil, Kim Hyunwoo, Park Heejung) received the Innovation Award (with a prize of 400,000 KRW) for their 'YOLOv11-based driver monitoring system,' while the SEEQ team (Choi Jihee, Kang Jaewan, Park Hyeondo, Kim Surim, Jeong Jiwoo) was also awarded the Innovation Award (with a prize of 400,000 KRW) for their project, 'My Second Brain Using Smart Glasses.'
The CreditNews team (Park Junyong, Cho Eunchae, Yoo Seoyoung) received the Idea Award (with a prize of 200,000 KRW) for their 'news article reliability analyzer,' and the WALKer HOLIC team (Kim Sangyeop, Kang Juhyun, Won Hanna, Heo Taehyeok) also received the Idea Award (with a prize of 200,000 KRW) for their 'AI wearable gait analysis platform.'
Noh Maengseok, head of the project group and professor of big data convergence, said, "I hope that the graduates of the SW Academy, which was operated to nurture software specialists, will continue this success by advancing into companies and society, where they can fully demonstrate their outstanding software capabilities."
