Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok), announced on December 14 that the "2025 General Meeting and Night of Environmentalists," hosted by the Namyangju Regional Headquarters of the Han River Protection Movement (Representative Namgung Wan), was held at a cafe in Hwado-eup on the evening of December 12.

This event was organized to share the achievements of members who have worked hard in the local environmental field throughout the year and to strengthen their commitment to the direction of activities for 2026. The city has steadily strengthened cooperation with local environmental organizations while promoting various environmental policies, and the general meeting served as an opportunity to review these achievements and discuss new environmental agendas. The organizers stated that the event was a meaningful occasion to further solidify the foundation for public-private cooperation.
About 60 members of the Namyangju Regional Headquarters of the Han River Protection Movement and around 90 attendees, including guests, participated in the event. During the general meeting, organizational restructuring and the main business directions for the coming year were discussed. The official ceremony included commendations for those recognized for their contributions to environmental improvement and a video presentation reviewing the year's activities and achievements.
Representative Namgung Wan stated, "I deeply appreciate all our members who have contributed to the local environment this year. Next year, we will continue to pursue more systematic and practical environmental activities, taking responsible roles in creating positive changes in the community."
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all members of the Namyangju Regional Headquarters of the Han River Protection Movement for their various activities to protect the Bukhan River, the lifeline for 740,000 citizens of Namyangju. The city will continue to focus on environmental policies created through public-private collaboration.
