Hyundai Motor Company's hydrogen electric vehicle, "The All-New Nexo," has proven itself to have world-class safety standards.

The Nexo achieved the top rating due to its ability to maintain a stable passenger compartment even in the event of a collision, providing excellent protection for occupants, and being equipped with a variety of advanced safety features, all of which were highly praised.
Following the "Ioniq 5" in 2021, the "Ioniq 6" in 2022, and the "Ioniq 9" in September this year, the Nexo has also achieved the highest rating in the Euro NCAP assessment, further demonstrating the superior safety of Hyundai's electrified lineup.
Notably, after the first-generation Nexo became the world's first hydrogen electric vehicle to receive a five-star rating from Euro NCAP in 2018, the second-generation model has also achieved the highest rating, further solidifying Hyundai's position as a leader in hydrogen mobility.
The Euro NCAP noted that the Nexo maintained a safe passenger compartment in both frontal and side crash scenarios, provided excellent protection for occupants' vital body parts, and included measures to reduce the risk of injury between occupants.
In the adult occupant protection evaluation, the Nexo demonstrated positive results in the front seat and headrest assessments, proving effective in preventing cervical spine injuries in rear-impact situations. In the child occupant protection evaluation, the Nexo received top scores for fully protecting all critical body areas of six-year-old and ten-year-old dummies in both frontal and side impact tests.
Euro NCAP also highly rated the Nexo for being equipped with a system that automatically notifies emergency rescue centers in the event of an accident, as well as a multi-collision automatic braking system that helps prevent secondary accidents after a collision. It was confirmed that, in the event of vehicle flooding, passengers can open the doors and windows to escape. The Nexo's Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system performed well in pedestrian response evaluations and was also praised for its excellent response to cyclists, motorcyclists, and other vehicles.
A Hyundai Motor Company representative stated, "Our commitment to developing safe vehicles has once again been recognized," adding, "We will do our utmost to provide customers with vehicles that offer world-class safety and quality."
