"Children's Traffic Safety Golden Bell Champions Tournament" Held
200 Students from 20 Elementary Schools Participate
On December 13, the city of Daejeon held the "Children's Traffic Safety Golden Bell Champions Tournament" at the Dosol Multipurpose Gymnasium, organized by the Daejeon Green Mothers Association.
The final round, which featured 200 students from 20 elementary schools who passed the preliminary rounds, was conducted in a lively atmosphere with enthusiastic support from parents and friends. Questions centered on the theme of "Traffic Safety on the Way to and from School in Harmony with Hydrogen Trams" received a great response.
To raise awareness of school zone safety in preparation for the opening of the hydrogen tram and to prevent traffic accidents involving children on their way to and from school, Daejeon City has been holding preliminary rounds of the Traffic Safety Golden Bell competition at individual schools since April this year. A total of about 2,700 students participated, and on this day, 10 winners were selected-including one Grand Champion-who received various awards such as the Mayor's Award and the Superintendent of Education Award.
The city plans to continue expanding hands-on traffic safety education tailored to the hydrogen tram era, in cooperation with related organizations such as the city council and the police agency.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, emphasized, "We will further strengthen children's safety education to match the future transportation environment coexisting with hydrogen trams."
