The event was attended by approximately 60 people, including Governor Jeong Jongbok, members of the Busan Metropolitan Council and Gijang County Council, the head of the Gijang County branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, as well as the president and members of the senior center. The ceremony included a progress report, commemorative address, congratulatory remarks, a plaque unveiling, a group photo, and a tour of the facility.

Wonma 3-ri is a newly established village that separated from the original Wonma 1-ri in 2020. Until now, the village did not have a senior center, making it inconvenient for elderly residents to engage in social and leisure activities. In response, the county decided to establish a new senior center, purchased a building in the village, and proceeded with remodeling work.

A total project cost of 700 million won (200 million won from the city and 500 million won from the county) was invested in the project, which began construction in October this year and completed the final inspection in November.

The newly opened Wonma 3-ri Senior Center is built on a land area of 253.1 square meters, with a total floor area of 184.34 square meters, and consists of two above-ground floors. The first and second floors have been separated into male and female spaces, and the center is fully equipped with heating and cooling systems, restrooms, and kitchen facilities to ensure that elderly residents can use the facility comfortably and safely.

Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "I hope the Wonma 3-ri Senior Center will become a comfortable resting place for seniors and a central community space for all residents," adding, "We will do our best to improve senior welfare and enhance convenience for local residents."
