On December 12, President Lee Jae-myung pointed out during the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's work briefing, "Given the importance of your areas of responsibility, there are significant risks of corruption."
President Lee made these remarks at the ministry's work briefing held at the Government Sejong Convention Center in Sejong City on the same day. He stated, "There are many risk factors involved in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's work. In fact, there have been some incidents," adding, "It seems crucial to ensure that such issues do not become problems in the future."
President Lee further explained, "Isn't the most fundamental role of political administration the distribution of resources? Deciding where to build bridges, where to locate factories, and which land to develop-these decisions not only affect the daily lives of the people but also have a significant impact on their assets."
He added, "For this reason, fair and transparent exercise of authority is more important in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's work than in any other area."
He urged, "I ask that you approach your work with a renewed mindset, a greater sense of duty, a fairer attitude, and more transparent procedures."
