According to the National Police Agency on December 12, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office sent an official letter to the agency's audit division on December 10, requesting 'appropriate measures' regarding Detective Baek's violation of publicity regulations and infringement of personal information protection. According to the relevant administrative regulations, the disclosure of facts about suspects or details of investigations is prohibited unless it is necessary to prevent the recurrence of similar crimes or the rapid spread of crime-related damages.

On December 9, after the joint investigation team concluded that the allegations of external pressure on the customs drug investigation were groundless and cleared customs officials and others of charges, the team abruptly released a draft of the on-site verification report targeting Malaysian drug couriers the following day. However, the initial on-site investigation conducted on September 22, in which the team pointed out that 'the police did not bring an interpreter, leading to the inducement of false statements among the drug couriers,' was not included.
