Cheongnyeongpo, Where Danjong Was Erased by History,
Brought to the Screen
Distributor Showbox announced on December 12 that director Jang Hangjun's film "The Man Who Lives with the King" will be released on February 4 next year.
The film depicts the exile period of Danjong of Joseon, who ascended to the throne at the age of twelve but was later dethroned. Set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, it tells the story of a village chief who volunteers for exile to save his village and his encounter with the young king who lost his throne.
Yoo Haejin plays village chief Eom Heungdo, while Park Jihoon portrays the deposed king Lee Hongwi. Yoo Jitae appears as the powerful Han Myeonghoe, and Jeon Mido plays court lady Maehwa. Park Jiwhan takes on the role of the magistrate of Yeongwol, Lee Junhyuk plays Lee Hongwi's uncle, Prince Geumseong, and Ahn Jaehong appears as the village chief of Norugol.
The film was co-produced by Onda Works and BA Entertainment.
