Seasonal Plantings and Nighttime Lighting
A Healing Space
Gwanak District in Seoul (Mayor Park Junhee) announced on December 12 that it has created the "Starlit Forest Trail" on the upper embankment of the Starlit Stream (from Sillim 2 Rainwater Pumping Station to the Jowon-dong pedestrian overpass) and held a completion ceremony with residents on December 11.

Over 100 residents attended the ceremony, including Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak District, to celebrate the completion of the forest trail. The event featured a lighting ceremony and the planting of a commemorative Pink Velvet tree.
The "Starlit Forest Trail" is an eco-friendly walking path designed in line with Seoul City's Attractive Garden initiative and the 2040 Waterfront Sensibility City policy direction. It has been reborn as a space where visitors can feel refreshed both day and night.
The trail is arranged so that visitors can enjoy a variety of plantings throughout all four seasons. In spring, daffodils, forsythia, and snowflakes bloom; in summer, pink velvet and hydrangeas; in autumn, miscanthus and silvergrass; and in winter, winterberry and variegated privet, creating a unique garden landscape for each season.
A "Visual Effect System" has been introduced to add a special touch. During the day, the trail offers a relaxing atmosphere with themes such as "The Charm of Late Afternoon" and "An Urban Oasis." At night, it transforms into an emotional night garden with lighting that mimics fireflies and starlight resting on the leaves, as well as floor lights that change with the seasons. The gentle lighting, reminiscent of starlight settling on the trail, ensures a safe and atmospheric nighttime stroll.
Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak District, stated, "The 'Starlit Forest Trail' is a space where residents can find vitality and healing in their daily lives, and it represents Gwanak District's commitment to creating a 'healing garden city.' We will continue to prioritize the happiness of our residents and expand spaces where they can enjoy leisure and healing in harmony with nature."
