Geumcheon District Confirms Reappointment of Seo Youngcheol as CEO of Geumcheon Cultural Foundation

Highest Management Evaluation Grade for Two Consecutive Years

Geumcheon District in Seoul has confirmed the reappointment of Seo Youngcheol as CEO of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation. His new two-year term will run until December 7, 2027.

Seo Youngcheol is a cultural administration expert with over 30 years of experience in public service and across domestic and international cultural and artistic fields. After retiring as Deputy Director-General at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he served as Secretary-General of the Korea Cultural & Arts Centers Association and was appointed as the fourth CEO of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation on December 8, 2023.

During his tenure, Seo has contributed to enhancing the organization's competitiveness, as evidenced by the foundation receiving the highest management evaluation grade for two consecutive years. Since taking office, he has demonstrated clear achievements in redefining the institution's vision and mission, establishing four strategic directions and ten key initiatives, and revising and enacting regulations to strengthen strategic operations and organizational systems.

He has actively incorporated the needs of local residents into management and promoted cultural and artistic projects that reflect the unique characteristics of the region. By establishing a Voice of Customer (VOC) system to continuously listen to residents' opinions and operating a resident planning group, he has provided opportunities for residents to take the lead in participating in projects.

Seo's efforts to reflect Geumcheon District's unique blend of tradition and advanced technology in the foundation's projects have also drawn attention. He has promoted festivals and performance projects rooted in historical culture, while also developing cultural and artistic programs utilizing digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

By operating a variety of special programs to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Geumcheon District and attracting outstanding cultural and artistic programs, he has elevated the foundation's status as a leading cultural and artistic institution in the region.
