The 'walls' of university education are coming down.
The RISE Project Group at Silla University (President Heo Namsik) has been operating a series of "field-customized practical Living Lab education programs" reflecting the characteristics of each major in early December, thereby fully launching a practical talent development model that connects the local industrial, public, and medical sectors.
This program is characterized by integrating events from three fields-food, fire safety, and healthcare-into a single flow of practical education, implementing a practice-oriented structure optimized for each major's work environment within the unified concept of a "Living Lab."
On December 2, a "Practical Exploration of Nutrition Education and the Bakery Industry" program was held for about 25 students from the Department of Food Nutrition and Bakery at the Nutrition Education Experience Center and the bakery manufacturing facility "Adela7."

Students toured the nutrition education experience space and the actual bakery production line, where they observed on-site process operations, sanitation and quality control, and the use of manufacturing equipment.
Subsequently, on December 4, the Department of Fire Safety and Emergency Rescue hosted a special lecture titled "The Present and Future Development Directions of Busan Fire Services," attended by approximately 30 students.

This lecture, delivered by Je Yonggi, Chief of the Jungbu Fire Station in Busan, covered the organizational structure of Busan Fire Services, disaster response systems, examples of the latest technology applications, and future policy directions, all based on real-world field cases.
On the same day, the Department of Nursing held a "RISE Living Lab Linked Nursing Employment Practical Skills Special Lecture" for about 60 students.

Woo Jeongae, Team Leader of Nursing Administration Education at Pusan National University Hospital, was invited as the lecturer and gave a talk focused on the actual hiring structures and field competency requirements of local medical institutions, including university hospitals, general hospitals, and specialized hospitals, thereby increasing student engagement.
Hwang Inju, Head of the RISE Project Group, stated, "This program is an example of interpreting the single concept of 'Living Lab' according to the characteristics of each major and expanding local industrial, public, and medical sites into actual work education spaces," adding, "We will continue to expand our ultra-precise practical education model that accurately responds to the industrial demand of each major."
With this practical Living Lab program as a starting point, Silla University plans to gradually advance its field-specialized RISE practical education system in line with changes in the local industrial structure and talent demand.
