Firefighters are checking inside and outside the burning truck for any remaining flames. Provided by Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters
At around 7:10 a.m. on December 11, a fire broke out in a 25-ton dump truck parked on the shoulder near the overpass in Hwagae-ri, Jeongchon-myeon, Jinju, Gyeongnam Province.
There were no casualties from the fire, but the truck was completely destroyed, resulting in property damage estimated at approximately 61.6 million won by the fire department.
After receiving a report that a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the overpass was on fire, the fire authorities responded and confirmed flames coming from beneath the driver's seat. They deployed 25 firefighters and 7 firefighting vehicles, extinguishing the fire completely by around 7:33 a.m. that day.
According to the fire authorities, the driver had reportedly started the engine about 20 minutes before the fire broke out.
The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
