In Yo-han of People Power Party Announces Resignation from National Assembly
Attorney Lee Sohee Expected to Succeed as Proportional Representative
On December 11, during an appearance on KBS1 Radio's "Jeongyeok Sisa," Kim stated, "Assemblyman In was someone who received the love of the entire nation before becoming a member of the National Assembly." He continued, "He was widely loved for doing many good deeds, such as sending ambulances to North Korea, but after entering politics, he has been greatly damaged. There are even stories that he was frequently called to Yongsan to drink with former President Yoon, so his image has worsened because of these things."
Regarding Assemblyman In's remark that "there is no change without sacrifice," Kim said, "There are still people who have not escaped the delusion of a rigged election and are insisting on 'Yoon Again.' I think he expressed his frustration because, with that approach, it is impossible to gain any recognition from the public."
On the state of martial law declared by former President Yoon, Kim remarked, "There is no one in our party who says martial law was handled well," and criticized, "Yet saying that the impeachment was wrong is essentially a massive deception of the public." He added, "If someone has clearly done wrong, they should be punished. No one is above the law, whether they are the president or the leader of the opposition party."

On the previous day (the 10th), Assemblyman In Yo-han of the People Power Party held a press conference at the National Assembly and abruptly announced his resignation from the National Assembly. It has been about one year and six months since he began his legislative activities after being elected as a proportional representative in the April 10 general election last year. With Assemblyman In expressing his intention to resign, attorney Lee Sohee, a member of the party's Special Committee on Organizational Reinforcement and next in line on the proportional representation list, will succeed him as a member of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, Assemblyman In, who is known as "Korea’s first special naturalized citizen," was appointed as the head of the People Power Party's Innovation Committee on October 23, 2023, during the tenure of party leader Kim Gi-hyeon. He led internal reforms of the ruling party under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration but stepped down after 42 days. Although he once declared as Innovation Committee chair that he would not run in the general election, he was elected as number 8 on the proportional representation list of the People Power Party’s satellite party, People’s Future, in the most recent general election.
