All trains will operate as normal, as the Korean Railway Workers' Union has decided to postpone the indefinite general strike that was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on December 11.
According to Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), labor and management reportedly reached a tentative agreement on key issues, including the normalization of performance-based bonuses, late last night.
As a result, the union decided to postpone the strike in order to minimize inconvenience to the public and will now focus on intensive negotiations regarding the detailed agenda items.
Previously, Gyeongnam Province had established an emergency transportation countermeasures office and initiated an emergency transportation system from the previous day in preparation for the railway union's general strike.
