Additional Statement Posted on SNS on December 10
"I Have Never Made Financial Demands of Anyone"
Person A, who previously raised allegations of broadcaster Jo Seho's involvement with organized crime, has issued an additional statement, saying, "I will not avoid legal action."
On December 10, Person A posted on their social networking service (SNS), "The information I have recently made public has generated much attention and controversy," and shared an additional message.
They stated, "I humbly accept both support and criticism, but from start to finish, my purpose in speaking out has remained the same," adding, "It is solely to raise awareness about illegal gambling and the harm it causes, and to correct these issues."
They continued, "I have raised these issues based on verified facts," stressing, "I have never made any financial demands of anyone, nor have I ever been involved in any financial offers or quid pro quo activities."
Addressing Jo Seho's legal response, Person A said, "I will not avoid any legal action," and added, "I will clarify any claims that differ from the facts through proper legal procedures." They further stated, "Even if I have to face disadvantages or concerns for my personal safety during this process, I will continue to respond until the truth is set straight."
Additionally, Person A said, "I will not make any unnecessary further disclosures or comments about Mr. Jo Seho," but added, "However, if claims that differ from the facts continue to be repeated or if only one-sided legal action is mentioned in relation to the issues I have raised, I will respond at any time based on verifiable facts."
Previously, Person A had released a photo of Jo Seho with another man at a franchise restaurant, claiming that this man was a key figure in organized crime who effectively controlled multiple businesses through illegal gambling site operations and money laundering. Person A also alleged that Jo Seho had a close relationship with this individual, promoted the businesses, and received expensive alcohol and gifts.
In response, Jo Seho's side issued an official statement, explaining that the man in question was simply an acquaintance he met through events and broadcasting activities, and denying all allegations of receiving money or valuables. They also announced plans to pursue legal action to clear up any misunderstandings.
However, Jo Seho's side stated, "We feel a deep sense of responsibility regarding the recent allegations and are aware of the discomfort experienced by viewers," and announced his departure from regular appearances on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" and KBS2's "2 Days & 1 Night."
