The police discovered signs of assault on the body of a deceased woman in her seventies and arrested her son and daughter, both in their forties, who had been living with her.
The Guro Police Station in Seoul announced on December 10 that it had urgently arrested a man in his forties, referred to as A, and a woman in her forties, referred to as B, on charges of causing death by assaulting a lineal ascendant.
Earlier, at around 12:36 p.m. on the same day, the fire department and police responded to a report stating, "My mother is not breathing," and were dispatched to a residence in Guro District. It was reported that bruises were found on the face and arms of the deceased woman in her seventies. Based on the medical examiner's assessment and other findings, the police determined there were signs of assault and booked the two children in their forties as suspects.
The police stated, "We will decide whether to request arrest warrants after conducting a thorough investigation," adding, "An autopsy will also be carried out."
