This operation was a large-scale joint rescue and apprehension effort in which police from both Korea and Cambodia participated at the scene. The Korea Task Force confirmed the facts of the captivity and torture of a Korean national through emergency calls such as the 112 hotline on December 4, and immediately requested the Cambodian police to deploy swiftly by submitting an urgent rescue request.

Korean police officers, through comprehensive intelligence gathering, identified the exact location where the victim was being held and discovered that around 50 Koreans were committing scam-related crimes at the site.

On the day of the operation, four Korean police officers from the Korea Task Force, nine Cambodian police officers, about 100 local Cambodian police including the special police unit, and agents from the National Intelligence Service of Korea sealed off the surrounding area, including the first floor of the building, and apprehended the suspects simultaneously.

An official from the National Police Agency stated, "We will continue to take the lead in eradicating international organized crimes such as online scams and voice phishing through close cooperation with overseas law enforcement agencies."
