Kwangdong Pharmaceutical Wins Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the 32nd Corporate Innovation Awards

Kwangdong Pharmaceutical announced on December 10 that it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the 32nd Corporate Innovation Awards, co-hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Kwangdong Pharmaceutical was honored with this award in recognition of its company-wide digital innovation efforts, transparent disclosure of ESG information, and genuine achievements in sustainable management.

This year, the company established an AI Center and applied big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to research and development (R&D) innovation and production planning optimization, thereby building a foundation for digital transformation (DX). Through these initiatives, Kwangdong Pharmaceutical achieved improved work efficiency across the organization and further strengthened its digital capabilities.

Additionally, the company has made ESG management a core mid- to long-term priority, established a dedicated organization, and set up a management system focused on sustainability. Notably, Kwangdong Pharmaceutical voluntarily participated in the Environmental Information Disclosure System, even though it was not mandatory, and transparently released key environmental data, thereby increasing management credibility. Furthermore, by introducing solar power generation projects and replacing high-efficiency heat pumps, the company has achieved tangible reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, and waste generation, delivering results in eco-friendly management.

Kwangdong Pharmaceutical is also taking the lead in promoting public health and creating social value. By signing contracts with global pharmaceutical companies, it has introduced orphan drugs and provided support for medication costs, thereby improving public access to pharmaceuticals. The company has also been recognized as a "Certified Social Contribution Company" and continues to engage in various social contribution activities, such as operating an employee matching grant program.
