On December 9, North Korea fired multiple rocket launchers into the West Sea after nine Chinese and Russian military aircraft entered the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ).
According to military sources on December 10, the North Korean military fired about 10 rounds of multiple rocket launchers into the West Sea the previous day. The multiple rocket launchers fired by North Korea are presumed to be 240mm launchers, which are among North Korea's long-range artillery systems.
Regarding the background of North Korea's rocket launches, the source stated, "It is presumed to be part of routine winter training." It is known that the North Korean military typically begins its winter training in December.
Meanwhile, on both the 1st and 3rd of last month, the North Korean military also fired about 10 rounds of what are believed to be 240mm multiple rocket launchers into the West Sea on each occasion.
