Through Walking Donations in the "EWP Energy 1004 Project"
Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province announced on December 9 that Korea East-West Power will provide a 20kW-class solar power generation facility to the Gokseong County Social Welfare Center as part of the "EWP Energy 1004 Project."
The "EWP Energy 1004 Project" is Korea East-West Power's flagship social contribution initiative, which supports solar power generation facilities for neighbors in need through donations made by walking. As a result, the Gokseong County Social Welfare Center will be able to reduce its operating costs related to electricity usage.

Jo Sangrae, Mayor of Gokseong County, stated, "This support for solar facilities from Korea East-West Power is an important opportunity to practice carbon neutrality while reducing the operating costs of welfare facilities," adding, "We will do our best to revitalize the local economy through the large-scale national project of the pumped-storage power plant that will be promoted in the future."
Meanwhile, as a result of years of cooperation and effort with Korea East-West Power, Gokseong County was selected as the final site for a new pumped-storage power plant-a large-scale national project worth 1.6 trillion won-under the 12th Basic Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand.
