The Corporate Innovation Awards are presented to exemplary companies that lead the way in management innovation and the practice of ESG (Environmental, Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance) management. This year marks the 32nd edition of the awards.

At the ceremony, Hyundai Elevator Co., Ltd. received the highest honor, the Presidential Award. Dong-A Otsuka Co., Ltd. and Samnok Co., Ltd. were selected for the Prime Minister’s Award, among a total of 21 companies that were recognized.

Hyundai Elevator has expanded the technological frontiers of the mobility industry by enhancing customer value and building a new service ecosystem through “MIRI,” its AI and IoT-based predictive maintenance service, which enables fault prediction and operational optimization. The company is also leading the implementation of the national RE100 initiative (using only electricity generated from renewable energy) through investments in eco-friendly renewable energy facilities and by establishing systems for collecting and recycling used elevator batteries.

Dong-A Otsuka has practiced sustainable management by reducing plastic use and establishing eco-friendly production systems. The company has promoted a pilot project for recycled colorless PET bottle materials and declared the “2050 Plastic ZERO” initiative. Samnok, a small and medium-sized enterprise in the shipbuilding and marine sector, has continued management and technological innovation and has taken the lead in introducing ESG management in the shipbuilding industry, working toward carbon neutrality.

In addition, eight innovative companies from sectors such as finance, pharmaceuticals, and information and communication technology (ICT) received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, while ten companies were selected for the President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Award.

Kang Myungsoo, Head of the Membership Planning Division at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, “This year’s award-winning companies have integrated artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies throughout their operations and have advanced their ESG management systems in terms of environmental friendliness, social contribution, and governance. Such innovative efforts are creating a virtuous cycle that spreads sustainable growth for companies and drives the growth of the entire economy.”
