Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun has raised questions about whether actor Jo Jinwoong, who retired due to a past juvenile offense, may have been targeted because of his previous pro-Moon Jae-in activities. Jo Jinwoong appeared on Kim Eo-jun's News Factory last August.

On December 9, during the opening of the live broadcast of his YouTube channel "Kim Eo-jun's Humility Is Difficult News Factory," Kim Eo-jun mentioned Jo Jinwoong's retirement following his juvenile offense. He said, "I am among those who suspect that the players targeted him because of his various activities during the pro-Moon era," adding, "Aside from my suspicions, I wonder whether rehabilitation and success are truly possible in our society. Is it right for society to immediately imprison someone as soon as their past as a 'Jean Valjean' becomes known?"

He also acknowledged, "Some say we should look from the victim's perspective, and the argument that nothing should proceed before the victim forgives is also persuasive." However, he criticized, "Does this principle operate fairly in our society? Even when cases of judicial murder or wrongful convictions lead to someone's death, not a single judge has ever been socially ousted. Why is that an exception?"

Finally, Kim Eo-jun stated that while he believes victim-centeredness is an important principle, he wonders whether it is being applied too harshly only to public entertainers. He emphasized, "A journalist can never obtain a minor's personal information through legal means. This, too, should be subject to investigation."
