Production of New Variety Show "Nadosinna" Also Canceled
Comedian Park Narae is leaving both MBC's "I Live Alone," where she appeared for nine years, and tvN's "Amazing Saturday," which she has been part of for seven years.
The production team of "I Live Alone" announced on December 8, "Considering the seriousness of the situation and Park Narae's intention to suspend her activities, we have decided to halt her appearances on the show."
Park Narae joined "I Live Alone" in 2016. This program significantly raised her profile, leading her to win the Grand Prize at the 2019 MBC Entertainment Awards and the Best Female Entertainer Award at the 2020 Baeksang Arts Awards.
The production team stated, "We apologize for the delay in our official statement, as we wanted to assess the situation with fairness at the forefront regarding the recent allegations." This is seen as a response to criticism that arose after allegations surfaced on December 4, and Park Narae's segments were not edited out of the episode aired the following day.
The production team of "Amazing Saturday" also announced on the same day, "We respect Park Narae's decision to suspend her broadcasting activities, and she will not be participating in recordings from now on." Park Narae was an original member of "Amazing Saturday," which began in 2018.
The new MBC variety show "Nadosinna," in which Park Narae was scheduled to appear, has been canceled. The show was initially planned as a travel concept featuring four comedians-Park Narae, Jang Doyeon, Shin Giru, and Heo Anna-and was set to air in January next year. Although some filming had already taken place, since the show's title "Nadosinna" was derived from the names of the four comedians and Park Narae's role was particularly significant, the decision was made to cancel production.
Earlier that day, Park Narae stated on social media, "I have decided to suspend all broadcasting activities until everything is clearly resolved." On December 4, former managers accused her of abuse of power, and she became embroiled in controversy following allegations that she received illegal medical treatment and proxy prescriptions from the so-called "Injection Aunt."
