Write Your Wish and Join the Wish Tree, Voluntary Donations
Funds to Support Art Therapy for Children in Care Facilities
Gifts Awarded Through Photo Event
Until January 4 Next Year
The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art announced on December 8 that it will hold the 2025 MMCA Wish Tree, an annual participatory art-sharing event, at MMCA Seoul until January 4 next year.
The MMCA Wish Tree is a social contribution program held by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at the end of each year. It is a participatory art and cultural event where visitors write their wishes on small ornaments, which are then combined to form a large wish tree.
To participate, visitors can write their own wishes on various types of decorative paper, combine them, and hang them on the wish tree. Afterwards, they can make a voluntary donation in an unmanned donation box.
An online donation page and an Instagram photo event have also been prepared. Participants who take a photo of themselves joining the Wish Tree art-sharing and post it on their personal Instagram account with the required hashtag '#MMCA소망나무' will be automatically entered into the event.
The event will run for the duration of the MMCA Wish Tree program. After the event ends, winners will be selected by lottery to receive prizes such as AirPods Pro 3rd Generation (1 winner), a capsule coffee machine (1 winner), and Starbucks coffee coupons worth 10,000 won (10 winners).
All funds raised will be donated to the international relief and development NGO World Vision and will be used to support art therapy programs for children in domestic facilities.
Kim Sunghui, Director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, said, "We have organized the Wish Tree event again this year so that everyone can reflect on the diverse exhibitions and activities presented at the museum and wrap up the year warmly. I hope you will join us in this meaningful act of sharing, and prepare for a heartfelt end of the year and the coming New Year."
