The city of Busan will implement traffic control on certain sections of the Jangsan 1 and 2 Tunnels from December 8, 2025, to January 20, 2026. This measure is due to construction work to install entry-blocking equipment at the tunnel entrances.
The project involves installing an automated system to block vehicle entry at Jangsan 1 and 2 Tunnels, located along Jangsan-ro in Haeundae-gu. The purpose is to prevent secondary accidents by stopping vehicles from entering in emergency situations such as fires. The construction will be carried out by Boram Information & Communications Co., Ltd. and CWH Tech Co., Ltd.
Traffic control will take place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day, with one of the three lanes in each direction closed alternately. The remaining two lanes will remain open for normal use. The city plans to minimize inconvenience to citizens by avoiding rush hours.
Additionally, on December 9 and 10, there will be extra daytime control for one hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on both days.
Min Soonki, Director of Urban Spatial Planning at Busan City, stated, "We will complete the construction as quickly as possible to ensure the safety of citizens using the tunnels," and asked for public cooperation during the control period.
