The agency plans to expand its investigative capabilities for crimes such as phishing and drug offenses in order to eradicate crimes affecting people's livelihoods and transnational crimes through customized responses by type. It will also focus significant investments on strengthening its ability to respond to crimes targeting vulnerable groups, such as digital sex crimes and relationship-based offenses.

Specifically, the budget to support the operation of the Integrated Response Team for Telecommunications Financial Fraud and dedicated phishing investigation departments at city and provincial offices has increased by 1.91 billion won. In addition, new allocations have been made for the introduction of a caller ID notification service for investigative departments (860 million won) to prevent phishing crimes impersonating investigative agencies, as well as for professional training in virtual asset tracking (100 million won) to trace and preserve criminal proceeds.

An official from the National Police Agency stated, "With the secured budget, we will further strengthen our on-site response capabilities and investigative expertise from next year, fulfilling our responsibility as the people's police."
