Hope Pantry and Young Startups Targeted
"Gratitude and Communication with Clients"
The popular mascots of Busan Port, "Haebeom and Ppupu," are now featured in a new calendar.
On December 5, Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) announced that it has produced a 2026 calendar modeled after its official characters, Haebeom and Ppupu, to express gratitude to key clients and the local community. The calendars will be distributed accordingly.
The 2026 character calendar depicts the monthly lives of the mascots set against various Busan Port landmarks, including the Busan Port Healing Campsite, the Busan International Port Conference (BIPC), and the Starlight Waterway at the North Port Waterside Park.
This year’s theme, “The Joy of Finding Luck,” features small four-leaf clovers hidden as Easter eggs in each monthly illustration, adding a touch of fun for those who discover them.
An Easter egg refers to a hidden message or feature placed by programmers or creators within software or content for added enjoyment.
The main recipients of the calendar include visiting clients at Busan Port, local organizations such as “Hope Pantry,” BPA’s flagship social contribution program, and young startup companies located in the “1876 BUSAN” startup support space.
BPA’s official mascots, Haebeom and Ppupu, have gained nationwide popularity, winning awards for two consecutive years in public institution character contests.
Song Sanggeun, President of BPA, stated, “Through the calendar featuring Haebeom and Ppupu, beloved by so many, we hope to convey messages of gratitude and good fortune. Busan Port Authority will continue to strengthen the image of Busan Port as a world-class competitor by leveraging friendly character content and diverse communication channels.”
