Namyangju City Signs 850 Billion Won Investment Agreement with Shinhan Financial Group for 'AI Infinity Center'

Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) signed a business agreement with Shinhan Financial Group on December 5 at the Shinhan Bank headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, to attract investment for the 'AI Infinity Center' within the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex.

This agreement is a core project for Shinhan Financial Group to secure leading financial AI technology. The city plans to accelerate the establishment of an advanced financial and AI industry base and enhance the competitiveness of the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex through approximately 850 billion won in private investment.

The Shinhan Financial Group 'AI Infinity Center' will be built on a site of about 97,000 square meters within the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex and will consist of an AI data center, work facilities, and R&D research facilities.

Once the center is completed, it is expected to become a key hub for AI technology development and operations in the financial sector, with about 500 Shinhan Financial Group employees and partner company staff stationed there.

At the signing ceremony, Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "Through today's agreement, Namyangju City will proactively realize Dasan Jeong Yak-yong's philosophy of innovation for the future, and Shinhan Financial Group will have the opportunity to become a leading company in the AI financial industry." He added, "We will provide remarkable special benefits and active administrative support to Shinhan Financial Group for choosing Namyangju."

Bank President Jeong Sanghyuk said, "By establishing an innovation ecosystem for AI-based finance and administration, Shinhan will contribute to the development of Namyangju City through job creation and nurturing local talent."

Namyangju City plans to complete the administrative procedures for designating the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex as an industrial complex within the first half of next year and will then actively attract companies by holding a large-scale investment briefing session.
