Previously, on December 2, Choi Minhee, Chairperson of the Science and Technology Committee, strongly criticized Daejun Park, CEO of Coupang, for his insincere attitude during a parliamentary inquiry on Coupang-related issues, and mentioned the possibility of holding a hearing.

Chairperson Choi stated, "CEO Park is evading answers by using the police investigation as an excuse," and added, "We will set the hearing date through bipartisan agreement. Not only CEO Park, but also the actual owner, Kim Beomseok, will be summoned as a witness."

The ruling and opposition party secretaries of the Science and Technology Committee have also agreed to hold a hearing on December 16 for Kim Jongcheol, the nominee for the inaugural chairperson of the Broadcasting, Media and Communications Committee.

The Science and Technology Committee plans to hold a full meeting on December 9 to adopt the hearing plan for Coupang and the personnel hearing plan for nominee Kim.
