Park Hyunkyung, who has served as a volunteer firefighter since 2022, was recognized for her heroic actions on September 14, when she revived a neighbor who had collapsed at a swimming pool using CPR and an automated external defibrillator. For this, she was awarded the 119 Hero Award.
This award is presented annually by the National Fire Agency to honor the noble courage and community spirit of citizens who step forward without hesitation to carry out rescues at accident scenes.
In April last year, Park was also commended by the chief of Suwon Nambu Fire Station for providing emergency treatment to a citizen who collapsed while shopping at a market in Paldal-gu, Suwon.

Nam Hyosik, a social service worker and certified level-1 emergency medical technician, was awarded the Best Award in the Health and Medical Sector for Social Service Workers in recognition of his swift and precise emergency care, which saved numerous lives while serving at the Gwonseon 119 Safety Center, the busiest emergency response center within the fire station.
Ko Youngju, Chief of Suwon Nambu Fire Station, stated, "The courage and spirit of service shown by these two individuals have contributed to safeguarding our community and spreading a culture of safety in daily life. I extend my deepest gratitude to those who give their best in their work, often out of the public eye."
