Nearly 2,000 emergency calls were reported in the Seoul area during the evening rush hour due to heavy snowfall.

On December 5, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that a total of 1,981 emergency calls were received in Seoul from 6:00 p.m. on December 4 to 5:00 a.m. on December 5, due to heavy snow in the region.


The calls included 442 cases related to traffic inconveniences, such as 166 traffic accidents, 1,444 cases related to safety incidents such as risk prevention, and 95 calls for counseling or other matters.


As a result of the heavy snowfall, at around 9:15 p.m. on December 4, a bus experienced wheel slippage on an icy uphill road in Songpa District, Seoul.


Additionally, at approximately 10:25 p.m. the same day, a four-vehicle collision occurred near the exit toward Yangjae at Seocho Tunnel due to icy road conditions. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
