Free Admission on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province will hold the year-end performance presentation of the Jeongeup City Gugak Orchestra, titled "Jeongeup Pungnyu," at the Jeongeupsa Arts Center at 7 p.m. on December 12.
According to the city on December 5, this year-end performance presentation has been organized to share the artistic achievements the city orchestra has accumulated over the past year, as well as the outstanding skills of its members, with local residents. All seats will be free of charge.

The performance will feature a diverse repertoire that showcases the unique charm and depth of Korean traditional music, promising audiences a rich and vibrant experience.
The opening act will be "Ogomu," a dynamic drum performance that combines powerful rhythms with energetic dance. This will be followed by the instrumental ensemble "Minyo-ui Hyangyeon," which will captivate the audience with the orchestra members’ exceptional musical abilities.
Next, the vocal and instrumental sections will collaborate on a one-act changgeuk (Korean opera) titled "Simcheongga: Sim Bongsa's Journey to Hwangseong," dramatically expressing the humor and sorrow unique to pansori and enhancing immersion. The program will continue with "Sanjo Dance," highlighting the aesthetics of traditional Korean dance, and "Yongoreum," a powerful piece depicting the ascent of a dragon through majestic drum rhythms, raising the energy of the stage to its peak.
The grand finale will be "Jeongeup Arirang," a newly composed gugak piece that reinterprets Jeongeup’s local identity with a modern sensibility. This piece is expected to leave a lasting impression and foster a sense of unity among the audience.
A city official stated, "As the Jeongeup City Gugak Orchestra wraps up the year, we have prepared this performance to express our gratitude for the support of our citizens and to expand opportunities for the local community to enjoy high-quality traditional music performances. We hope this will be a meaningful occasion to experience the strength of our local arts group and the beauty of Korean music."
