According to the ranking of automobile brands in the United States released by Consumer Reports on December 4 (local time), Subaru topped the list among all 31 brands with an overall score of 82, surpassing BMW (2nd place). Porsche (79 points) came in third, followed by other Japanese brands such as Honda (76 points), Toyota (75 points), and Lexus (75 points). Compared to the previous evaluation, Honda and Toyota each rose by one and four places, respectively, while Lexus dropped three places.

Among Korean brands, Hyundai (74 points) maintained its previous ranking at 8th place, while Kia (72 points) fell five spots to 12th, and Genesis (69 points) dropped two spots to 15th.

Tesla (72 points) made significant progress, climbing eight spots to reach 10th place.

Consumer Reports noted that, by vehicle type, hybrid cars continue to outperform electric vehicles and traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

Jake Fisher, Senior Director of Automotive Testing at Consumer Reports, praised Subaru, which was rated the best brand this year, stating, "It not only offers excellent performance and comfort, but also excels in areas that may not be immediately apparent during a test drive. By sharing proven components, it consistently ensures outstanding reliability." Regarding Tesla's rise in the rankings, he explained, "It is the result of improved reliability over time," particularly because Tesla has not frequently made major design changes across multiple models, as is common among traditional automakers.

Consumer Reports’ automobile brand rankings are based on a composite score that includes the outlet's own road tests, safety evaluations, brand reliability, and owner satisfaction survey results.
