Field Understanding → Problem Solving → Performance Verification → Recruitment Connection
The RISE Project Group at Silla University (President Heo Namsik) is operating a step-by-step practical education program that progresses through “field understanding - performance verification - practical recruitment,” thereby demonstrating the effectiveness of the Busan-style RISE talent development model.
In November, the Department of Police Administration, Department of Advertising and Public Relations Media, and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Silla University operated a “practical living lab track” in which students directly visited local strategic industry companies and institutions tailored to their majors to understand and experience the field firsthand.

First, students from the Department of Police Administration visited Busan Port Security Corporation, which is responsible for front-line safety and national security at Busan Port, to experience port security systems and real-world response procedures.
This program, focusing on △cases of smart security technology application and △understanding the structure of inter-agency collaboration, served as an opportunity to broaden career prospects beyond traditional police roles, expanding into port security and public safety fields.
Next, the Department of Advertising and Public Relations Media held a “practical education living lab performance sharing project,” where students publicly verified advertising and public relations plans, video content, and brand campaign outcomes accumulated through extracurricular activities.
Students reviewed the results derived from solving actual tasks for local communities and institutions through faculty evaluation and feedback, thereby completing the final stage of RISE-type project-based learning (PBL).
Finally, on the 28th, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering conducted a RISE-linked mock interview program with direct participation from industry experts. Professionals from companies such as Hyosung Heavy Industries and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power participated as interviewers, creating an environment identical to real corporate interviews and providing tailored feedback focused on job suitability, practical competency, and organizational adaptability.
Participating students received specific diagnoses of their strengths and areas for improvement, gaining the opportunity to redesign their competencies to meet industry demands.
This joint program among the three departments concretely demonstrates the RISE virtuous cycle of “field understanding → problem solving → performance verification → recruitment,” and clearly differentiates itself from conventional living lab education by closely realizing RISE’s goal of cultivating practical talent based on local industry demand.
Hwang Inju, Head of the RISE Project Group at Silla University, stated, “This program is more than just a practical experience; it is a real-world verification of the RISE virtuous cycle that connects local field experience, university education, and industry recruitment. We will continue to expand advanced practical programs that connect achievements to employment, enabling students to grow into key talents for local strategic industries.”
The Silla University RISE Project Group plans to continuously expand the “problem solving - performance creation - talent retention” linked practical education model, with ongoing participation from local public institutions, industries, and universities.
