The Gyeongnam Eastern Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), led by Branch Manager Shim Yeonseop, conducted a "Construction Site Fall Accident and Cold-Related Illness Prevention Campaign" on December 4 at a new logistics center construction site in Daedong-myeon, Gimhae City.

This campaign was organized to proactively address risk factors that are prevalent during the winter season and to ensure the safety of construction workers. It was carried out in collaboration between the Gyeongnam Eastern Branch of KOSHA and the Gyeongnam Labor-Management-Government-Civic Council.

On that day, the agency conducted a joint inspection focused on preventing fall accidents by thoroughly checking for major risk factors such as safety railings, management of openings, and safety measures for working at heights. The agency also took immediate corrective action for any hazardous or dangerous factors identified, thereby enhancing the overall safety level at the site.

Additionally, to reduce the physical burden on workers exposed to cold weather, a food truck was operated to provide warm drinks and snacks. Hot packs and essential winter construction site safety rules (OPS) were also distributed to raise workers' safety awareness and prevent cold-related illnesses.

Branch Manager Shim Yeonseop stated, "I hope this campaign will further spread a culture of safety management at construction sites during the winter season," adding, "We will continue our efforts to establish a culture of safety in the local community based on close cooperation with related organizations."
